Who Should Come to Your Wedding?

Creating a wedding guest list is undoubtedly one of the hardest parts of planning a traditional wedding.

I want to help you craft the perfect wedding guest list.

When asking yourself, “who should I invite to my wedding,” consider this:

I believe that you should only invite people that make you feel good, build you up, and allow you to be yourself.

How to Create a Meaningful Guest List for Your Elopement

Are you ready for me to ruffle some feathers?

No one has the right to come to your wedding.

If you don’t want someone at your wedding - you don’t have to invite them.

You don’t owe anything to anyone.

It’s your wedding day, you can invite whoever you want or no one at all.

How to Decide Who to Invite to Your Wedding

If you don’t know who to invite to your wedding - ask yourself the following questions about each potential wedding guest:

  1. Am I inviting this person out of guilt or obligation?

  2. Will this individual add drama to my day?

  3. Does thinking about this person stress me out?

  4. Will this person make my wedding day about them?

  5. How do I feel after spending time with this person?

Number five is by far the most important to really get in touch with yourself about how this individual makes you feel.

Do you feel relaxed and recharged after you’ve spent a day with this person or are you anxious and annoyed?

Be real with yourself. Ask yourself how you feel after spending time with that family member or friend.

This is your day. Only you get to decide who will be a part of it.

Creating an Elopement Guest List

It’s time to tap into that inner strength.

Only invite individuals that you actually want at your wedding.

Allow yourself permission to cut that guest list in half or scrap it altogether.

“Who should I invite to my wedding” — girl, you already know.
