Elopement Packing Checklist
I wanted to create an elopement packing checklist so you could make sure you don’t forget a thing!
If you check a bag make sure you have the important stuff in your carry on.
If the airline loses your checked luggage, think about what items would be essential to have for your elopement, aka your wedding dress.
Let’s create your elopement packing checklist together!
Everything to Pack for Your Elopement
Bridal Look
Wedding dress, undergarments, shoes, socks, and accessories: veil, garter, flower crown, jewelry. Remember, it’s your day and you are not confined to traditional wedding norms. Wear whatever the hell you want for your wedding.
Adventure Clothing
Think about what you are doing on your adventure elopement and make a checklist just for that activity. I wrote an entire post on what to wear when hiking. If you have any specific questions about what clothing to bring for your adventure elopement give me a call and I’ll help you make a personal packing list.
Adventure Gear
Do you need a 40L backpack for a hike? Or will your elopement adventure include a surfboard and wetsuit? Take out a piece of paper and write down every piece of gear you need to bring for your elopement activity. Surfing on the Oregon coast without your booties is a bummer.
Ceremony Items
This completely depends on what your ceremony structure looks like. Do you want to play music on a portable speaker, are you going to pop a bottle of champagne, or do you simply need to bring a piece of paper you wrote your vows on? No matter what - make sure to bring the rings.
Additional Clothing
For me, this would be a lot of leggings, hoodies, plus a pair of ankle boots and sneakers. Make a list of clothing you want to bring ahead of time so you don’t forget the small stuff. Like underwear and toiletries.
Documents + Paperwork
My biggest travel tip is to have all your paperwork and important documents in two places.
1. Take a picture/screenshot every important document, map, and booking confirmation then put them all in a photo album in your phone labeled “elopement.”
2. It’s very possible your cell phone battery could die at a critical time in your travels. Go old school and print out or write down the following details. I also suggest making copies of your identification and insurance cards in case you lose your wallet.
vows
marriage license
park pass and wedding ceremony permit
photography / videography permits
flight confirmation number
vehicle rental booking confirmation
accommodation booking confirmation along with the address
both of your passports
ID / driver's license
international drivers license

health insurance card
